In mid September we traveled to Montreal, Canada to visit Josh. Josh accepted a football contract to play for the Montreal Alouettes and has been in Montreal since the beginning of summer. We wanted to see a game this season so Lindsay and I looked at the football schedule and picked a weekend that worked for us and her schedule. We invited Boston Mom as well and were excited to have her along for the trip.
We packed up the car that Friday after work and headed for Montreal. On the way we picked up Boston Mom along I-91 in Massachusetts and Lindsay in Burlington, VT. The total drive took us about 6 1/2 hours, not too bad.
Entering Canadian customs.
Montreal is beautiful. I was surprised when we entered Canada how flat everything was, especially after traveling through the numerous mountains in Vermont. We were lucky to have perfect weather all weekend. We strolled downtown Montreal where all the shops are for the majority of the day Saturday. Saturday night, Lindsay and Josh took us to Old Montreal (near the water) and we dined at a great restaurant with lots of character.
Sunday we woke, had a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then headed to cheer on the Montreal Alouettes. It was great getting to see the field and how Canadian football is played, different rules, etc. We really enjoyed getting to see Josh and his new surroundings, he is adjusting well :)

There is Josh!
Kevin and I at the game in our Alouettes gear.
Kevin, myself and Lindsay during the game. The people behind us spoke french the whole game. It was entertaining, especially towards the end when the score was close.
Unfortunately the Alouettes lost, but it was great to see Josh, the stadium and experience National Canadian football.

After the game, posing with the star.
All in all, another great weekend trip!
Josh we are definitely coming back to visit you.
