Labor Day Weekend!

This year we spent Labor Day weekend in Winnsboro with my family. We had a great time as usual. The weekend started off with Kevin and I participating in the 6th Annual Classic Car Show in Winnsboro, TX.

A little background, Kevin recently purchased a silver 2008 Z51 Corvette. He has been wanting a Corvette for some time now (20 years) and I finally gave him the green light! Don't worry, Kevin still has his Volvo...this is just his toy and I have to admit its pretty fun to ride in. Anywho, Winnsboro Rotary Club hosts the event, and it gets bigger every year. This year, mom suggested that Kevin enter his Corvette in the show as its a "modern classic."

As dumb luck would have it, all the locals (and others) were enamoured with Kevin's Corvette (despite about 8 other modern Corvette's participating in the show). As a result of the voting, Kevin was awarded "The People's Choice Award." Kevin was soooo excited. So now he tells people we have an award winning Corvette!

The family really enjoyed having the Corvette there this weekend. Mom told all her students that stopped by to say hello, that this was her new car!

The girls with the car.

Lindsay was lucky to be at the house when Kevin purchased the car, so she got one of the first rides!

Saturday night we ate dinner at Double C's Steakhouse in Winnsboro, TX. We are long time members of the private club ;) Uncle John and Rachelle joined us for dinner along with Uncle Don and Aunt Judy. It was great to catch up with family while we were in town.

Mom, Bev and I before dinner.

As you can tell, the sun got the best of us at the car show. Kevin called it the "Car Show Glow!" Don't worry Boston Mom, Kevin's face has returned back to normal and we will remember sunscreen for the next car show.

Sunday we spent a day relaxing in the pool. We brought our floats from home so no one would be fighting for the good floats. When Kevin started to inflate our rafts, Callaway started attacking the pump. I shot a quick video of Callaway's reaction because its hilarious.

We realized after inflating our floats that one of them had a puncture in it. Kevin decided to use it anyway, but after an hour or so was starting to take on some water. He was very brave and opted to go down with the ship ala Titanic.

So brave.....

Monday the guys played golf and us girls went for a bike ride.

Happy Labor Day to all :)
